About Us

The Nutrition Services Department is a key part of Mahusekwa District Hospital dedicated to promoting nutrition and health across the district. We focus on prevention, management, and education to support patients, staff, and the community.

Our Services

– *Prevention and Management of Malnutrition*: Screening, assessment, and treatment of malnutrition in patients of all ages.

– Dietetics-  Management of Patients with diet related chronic illnesses and acute illnesses

-Nutrition Garden: We mann a sustainable garden in order to provide fresh produce for patient meals

– *Maternal and Child Nutrition*: Specialized nutrition support for pregnant women, new mothers, and children.

– *Catering Services*: Nutritious meals for patients and staff, tailored to meet dietary needs.

– *Community Outreaches*: Collaborative efforts with local communities, government departments, and stakeholders to promote nutrition education, food security, and sustainable livelihoods. We support initiatives that enhance district food systems and resilience.

*Home Visits*: Personalized nutrition counseling and support for patients in their homes.
